Alexander Daniels are currently recruiting for a Payroll Manager for a growing Plc in North Birmingham. You will be responsible for ensuring the team are delivering first class, compliant and timely management of the group’s payroll, building relationships with key stakeholders within the business to drive continuous improvement and remove complexity where possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 4 Payroll Administrators to ensure an efficient and compliant administration of the groups multiple payrolls
  • Look for opportunities to remove complexity and streamline processes to drive efficiency
  • Ensure the payroll system is compliant and kept up to date with legislation changes, looking at opportunities to automate processes as applicable
  • Keep up to date with HR/Employment legislative changes
  • KPI reporting for the payroll team to ensure service levels are maintained to a high standard and to provide useful payroll metrics in to the leadership team.
  • Regular spot checks and more formal audits of all areas of responsibility to check quality and accuracy of data used by the team and data produced by the team.
  • Be the lead Group contact for HMRC dealings and enquiries on payroll taxes.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing a busy and complex payroll department, with a CIPP qualification (or equivalent). You must have thorough knowledge of relevant tax and employment legislation to ensure the Group complies with the law and adapts to inevitable regular change. Prior experience in developing and implementing payroll practices and procedures would also be advantageous.
